When The Dairy Kompany Ltd was established in 2010, we needed a name that reflected exactly what the business was about.
Dairy.
Simple enough.
The Dairy Company would have been the obvious choice. The only problem? There was already a company in Australia using the name.
Rather than abandoning the idea completely, we made one small change.
Company became Kompany.
And The Dairy Kompany was born.
There wasn’t a huge branding agency behind it or a complicated story. It was a practical decision made when the business started — but over the years, that K has become part of who we are.
Today, you’ll increasingly see us using the shorter name DairyKo.
It’s simpler, more distinctive and a little easier to remember — but we’re still The Dairy Kompany Ltd behind the name.
And while our name has Dairy in it, what we supply has grown considerably since the business began.
We work with food manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, foodservice businesses and other trade customers across the UK, sourcing products from a network of manufacturers and suppliers.

Originally, the K was simply a way of making our company name different.
More than 15 years later, we quite like that it makes us a little different too.
Our focus is on being one you can rely on and trust.
That means understanding what a customer actually needs, finding the right solution, working through MOQs and delivery requirements, and providing clear, straightforward information.
Sometimes that’s a regular pallet of cheese. Sometimes it’s bulk butter for a food manufacturer. Other times, it’s an unusual ingredients that takes a little more searching.
That’s the role DairyKo has grown into.
