If you know Harrogate, you probably know it for two things. Bettys, which has been baking in the town since 1919 and still makes everything at its Harrogate bakery. The Great Yorkshire Show, held at the showground every July - four days when farming, food and the countryside come together in one place.
The Show has an even stronger connection to our world now, with the Great Yorkshire Cheese & Dairy Show forming part of the event. Producers, Cheesemakers, Dairy Businesses and Judges come together to showcase some of the best cheese and dairy products from Yorkshire and beyond. It feels particularly fitting that one of the country's biggest celebrations of agriculture should also have cheese and dairy firmly at the heart of it.
That says a lot about why a dairy business like ours is based here. Harrogate is a town with a long-standing food reputation, surrounded by one of Britain's great farming counties. For us, being in the middle of that isn't a marketing line - it's practical. Our suppliers are here, many of our customers are here, and we're close to the farms, dairies and people behind the products we work with.
It means we can be at a Yorkshire dairy in the morning and back in Harrogate with a sample that same afternoon. And every July, when the Great Yorkshire Show - and now its Cheese & Dairy Show - arrives on our doorstep, you get a pretty good picture of the industry and community we're proud to be part of.
